Purdue team advances to Rube Goldberg finals competition

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — A Purdue student team is headed to the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest finals next month.

The Purdue American Society of Mechanical Engineers advanced to the final contest after winning Saturday’s regionals competition at Purdue Armory. The team used a kitchen-themed machine to complete the task of applying a Band-Aid.

Finals of the Rube Goldberg competition are scheduled for March 26 at the Center of Science and Industry in Columbus, Ohio. Purdue ASME placed fifth last year.
