Purdue students invited to Sept. 9 callout for media technology competition with $10,000 in prizes

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue University graduate and undergraduate students across all academic disciplines are invited to a Tuesday (Sept. 9) callout meeting for a media technology competition that offers more than $10,000 in prizes.

The fourth Schurz Innovation Challenge at Purdue provides competitors with an opportunity to test their creativity and skills in developing innovative ideas in online and mobile media technology. The callout will begin at 6 p.m. in Krannert Building, Room G002, 403 W. State St. Refreshments will be served.

All teams must include at least one Purdue University graduate or undergraduate student. Other eligibility information is available at http://www.purduefoundry.com/blogs/schurz-innovation-challenge.

Eleven teams and 37 people competed in the April 2014 competition. First place and an award of $5,000 went to "Alfred," which developed an application to simplify food shopping experiences, manage home pantries and suggest recipes.

Schurz Communications Inc. sponsors the competition, which is organized by Purdue Foundry and held once each semester.
