USA Swimming meet to alter pool hours today to Sunday

July 30, 2015

Competition opens today (July 30) at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center in USA Swimming's Futures Championships, and the center is closed from now through Sunday (Aug. 2).

The Recreation Pool in the Córdova Recreational Sports Center will have adjusted hours today and Friday, then regular hours Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise, hours and facilities in that building ("Co-Rec") will operate on the normal summer schedule. Those using the Co-Rec may see effects on parking and foot traffic.

USA Swimming chose Purdue's "AQUA" as an Olympic-class venue to host the Futures, one of three such events around the country to give up-and-coming under-18 athletes more experience between sectionals and nationals. More about the meet is at www.purdue.edu/recsports/programs/aquatics/futures-2015/index.php or on this meet site designed mainly for participants.

Recreation Pool hours during the Futures meet days are:

* Today: 6-9 a.m. and 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
* Friday: 6-9 a.m. and 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m.
* Saturday: 12:30-5:30 p.m.
* Sunday: 12:30-5:30 p.m.
