The Purdue Farmers Market will reopen Thursday (May 1), and it will offer a host of locally produced foods, including prepared lunches, nearly every Thursday through Oct. 30.

The market's location and hours of operation have changed from previous years. On Thursdays from May 1 through July 31, the market will be open from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. On Thursdays from Aug. 7 through Oct. 30, the market will resume its previous hours, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The market will be held at the northern end of Memorial Mall due to traffic related to the demolition of the Engineering Administration Building and the retired Heating and Power Plant-North. Due to conflicting events in the area, the market will not be held on May 22, Sept. 11 or Sept. 18.

In addition to a variety of local produce, the market again will offer local prepared foods, which will be served during market hours.

The prepared foods have continued to be a popular feature since 2012, when they first were offered, says Sarah Vaughn, assistant to the director of university sustainability.

Twenty-minute parking spots will be available east of the market, behind Stewart Center. They will be free to use during market hours.

The Office of University Sustainability manages the market. Providing marketing support, contracts with vendors and a market master is Greater Lafayette Commerce.
