Faculty members invited to apply for CIC leadership program

February 18, 2014

Purdue faculty members are invited to apply for the Committee on Institutional Cooperation's Academic Leadership Program. The deadline to apply is March 17.

The committee is an academic consortium of Big Ten universities and the University of Chicago.
The leadership program is designed to develop the leadership and managerial skills of faculty who have demonstrated exceptional ability and administrative promise.

Nominees for the upcoming program must electronically submit a complete curriculum vitae, an applicant letter of interest, a letter of support from a department head endorsed by the dean and a completed program application online.

Applicants can apply online and upload requested materials from the Office of the Provost website at http://dagon.admin.purdue.edu/cic.

This year, Purdue will competitively select up to five  faculty members to participate in the program, which meets three times for two and a half days on the various participating campuses. Purdue's Fellows meet at least monthly with administrators on their own campus to learn about various administrative functions.

The program will be in its 25th year next fall and is specifically oriented to the challenges of academic administration of major research universities and to the preparation of faculty members to meet those challenges.

Individuals interested in applying should feel free to contact the 2012-13 Fellows for additional input regarding the CIC-ALP program. A panel of Purdue's former CIC-ALP Fellows will recommend this year's fellows to the Office of the Provost, which will select the fellows. The office will announce its selections in mid-April.

A roster of all of Purdue’s former CIC-ALP Fellows currently at the University can be found on the Office of the Provost website at www.purdue.edu/provost/faculty/development/cic.html.
