Jerry Lynch named interim Krannert dean
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Jerry Lynch, a professor of economics and academic director of the master's and executive education programs at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, will become the school's interim dean, effective July 1.
Timothy Sands, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, said a new candidate search for a dean is under way with the goal of naming the dean no later than next spring. The search will expand to attract a broader pool of candidates than an earlier search.
Krannert Dean Richard Cosier announced last year that he would step down July 1. Cosier will continue as Leeds Professor of Management and as co-director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship.
Lynch has been at Purdue since 1982. While at Purdue, he also was associate dean for programs and student services and was associate dean of the German International School of Management and Administration, Krannert's international outreach MBA program in Hanover, Germany. His areas of specialty are monetary theory and policy, macroeconomics, and international trade and finance.
"Jerry has proven leadership skills that will be an asset as interim dean," Sands said. "His vision and experience will be tremendously valuable as we continue to move Krannert's objectives and strategies forward."
