Purdue Musical Organizations to hold Kids Choir auditions

September 13, 2011
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue Musical Organizations (PMO) will hold auditions  at 2 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 18) for its Kids Choir, which will be featured in the 78th Annual Purdue Christmas Show.

Auditions will be held in University Church at Grant and North streets. Boys and girls between the ages of 8-12 with unchanged voices are eligible to audition for the Kids Choir. Children will be taught a song and dance routine in a group setting. Each child will then perform the routine as the audition piece.

"The PMO Kids Choir is a big commitment, but it's a great experience for the children," said William Griffel, director of Purdue Musical Organizations. "We need kids who can sing, move and perform with great attitudes and lots of energy."

A parent or guardian must accompany their child to the audition.

The Purdue Christmas Show, which is viewed by more than 15,000 people each year, will be presented Dec. 3-4. Tickets can be purchased by downloading the ticket order form on the Purdue Christmas Show web page or by visiting any Purdue Box Office location.

For more information, call Purdue Musical Organizations at (765) 494-3941 or visit the PMO Kids Choir web page.
