The Purdue Research Foundation was established to provide facilities, equipment, and financial support to Purdue Research. This foundation assists researchers in becoming the best in their field. Purdue University attracts and retains premier faculty talent. One of the reasons is a No. 2 ranking in a top-10 list of the nation's "Best Places to Work in Academia", according to The Scientist magazine.

The Purdue Research Park, which was voted the #1 Research Park in the country for 2004 and 2005, is home to more than 90 companies, many of which are commercializing Purdue-developed technologies. The Park was further recognized in 2005 for 'Excellence in Technology Transfer,' an award for demonstrating the most success in the commercialization of university research.
