Research Statement
Prof. Appenzeller's group explores device and transport physics of low-dimensional systems, including experimental verification of novel device concepts for improved transistor performance, exploration of nano-materials, and nano-interfaces for future nanoelectronics applications. More generally, research efforts in the Appenzeller group fall into three primary areas of focus: nanowires, carbon, and spintronics. These areas are further broken down into themes as shown in the interactive image below.
