Purdue, Duke Energy advance nuclear power exploration with lecture series, executive advisory group

Purdue and Duke Energy on Friday (June 24) announced plans for a lecture series to help the public learn more about advances being made in nuclear energy and small modular reactors. The lecture series was announced at the first meeting of an executive advisory committee steering the joint exploration between Purdue and Duke Energy into the feasibility of using advanced nuclear energy to meet the long-term energy needs of the West Lafayette campus.

Congratulations faculty Fulbright award recipients

Purdue faculty honored with Fulbright Scholar Awards

Studying nonlinear interfacial waves, developing solutions for clean propulsion, and analyzing the development of heritage languages in the classroom environment are some of the research projects representing five Purdue University faculty who have been named U.S. Fulbright Scholars. These faculty members will complete their research in educational institutes and research facilities around the world.

Ukrainian scholars prepare for Purdue arrival

Ukrainian doctoral student Tetiana “Tanya” Gordiienko fights back the emotions as she describes how life has dramatically changed in Kyiv since Feb. 24, when Russia’s military invaded Ukraine. Purdue University will play an essential role for Gordiienko toward completing her PhD when she arrives next month as one of 20 individuals through Purdue’s Ukrainian Scholars Initiative.
