Support provided for expecting parents, breastfeeding mothers

Human Resources is reminding faculty and staff that the University provides multiple resources to assist expecting parents as well as breastfeeding mothers after they have returned to work. Available resources support the physical health, behavioral health, financial wellness and work-life integration pillars of the Healthy Boiler Program.

Purdue launches nation’s first comprehensive Semiconductor Degrees Program

In the next five years, a minimum of 50,000 trained semiconductor engineers will be needed in the United States to meet the overwhelming and rapidly growing demand. Purdue University has answered that call, becoming the first in the country to launch a comprehensive set of innovative, interdisciplinary degrees and credentials in semiconductors and microelectronics.

Angela Ashmore, an engineer for Chip Ganassi Racing’s Indy 500-winning No. 8 Huski Chocolate Honda, says from the moment she stepped onto Purdue’s campus, she knew it was the place for her. On "This Is Purdue," Ashmore discusses her experience with Purdue’s Formula Society of Automotive Engineers student club and how the problem-solving techniques she learned in the School of Mechanical Engineering helped propel her career.

Danny Milisavljevic dreams of giving every Purdue undergraduate student the opportunity to look through a telescope before they graduate. “As a school that has this rich history of space exploration, we can’t launch everybody on rockets, but at the very least they can get an appreciation of space by looking through a telescope," he says.

The calendar focused on deadlines will be included Mondays in the Faculty and Staff news section. Purdue Today will resume highlighting events in August with the debut of Purdue’s new University calendar.
