Instruction during pandemic provides data for future STEM education

University-level science and engineering courses were modified during the pandemic year, and it is unlikely they will ever fully return to what they were before the events of 2020. But at Purdue, as online learning grew, campus leaders used the course experiences as sources of data about how first-year science and engineering students learn. That data, in turn, will enrich higher education for years to come.

Purdue students preparing today for a future driven by data

Data is everywhere. It’s how your GPS knows how to guide you to your favorite coffee shop, or how cancer researchers can use data to determine the best individual drug therapy options for patients. Ultimately, data science is helping companies connect the dots between today’s decisions and tomorrow’s strategies. Purdue is answering the call for data science expertise with The Data Mine.
