‘Pursuing Racial Justice Together’ series announced for Fall 2020 semester

Purdue University’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion is presenting “Pursuing Racial Justice Together,” an ongoing series of virtual discussions with thought leaders, experts and visionaries over the course of the coming 2020-21 academic year. Ibram X. Kendi, author of “How to Be an Antiracist,” will be the featured guest on the opening event of the series at 7 p.m. Sept. 2.

Aerospace engineer strives to unite aviation operating systems

Hypersonic aircraft offers travelers a velocity at five times the speed of sound or faster. Smaller vertical-lift craft are much slower but could be tasked with package delivery. The two kinds of aircraft couldn’t sound more different. But for Purdue University’s Daniel DeLaurentis, his research into both is remarkably similar, getting the independent internal and external systems within an aircraft to work together in concert, creating a system of systems.
