Today's (Sept. 25) Giant Leaps Series event will feature Yoshimasa Hayashi speaking on "Agricultural Trends Within Globalization." A member of the Liberal Democratic Party, Hayashi has served in Japan’s House of Councillors since 1995. Appointed to both the Committee on Financial Affairs and the Commission on the Constitution, he recently served as minister of education, culture, sports, science and technology.

Guoping Feng's presentation, "Live Long and Prosper: The Promise of Science (Fiction) and Medicine," is sponsored by the College of Pharmacy.

Employees will have access to free flu vaccines again this year at multiple locations. The Center for Healthy Living, Purdue Pharmacy and the Nursing Center for Family Health -- all on the West Lafayette campus -- will be providing flu shots after Oct. 1 for benefits-eligible employees and spouses and dependents covered on a Purdue medical plan. Flu shot events also will be set up at the Purdue Fort Wayne and Purdue Northwest campuses. |
