Workshop to discuss screening, treatment for prostate cancer

As part of Purdue’s new Verdi Cancer Direct program, Human Resources will host a family-friendly workshop on prostate cancer from noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 26 in Stewart Center, Room 278.

“Prostate Cancer” will discuss screening for prostate cancer, as well as all the new progress in treatment of advanced prostate cancer, presenting data from clinical trials. This workshop will be presented by Dr. Costantine Albany, Horizon Oncology.

Horizon Oncology Center is an independent provider of high-quality cancer care (medical oncology) in Lafayette. Founded by Dr. Wael Harb, Horizon serves patients regionally with quality care, including access to early phase clinical trials. Verdi Cancer Direct, debuting in 2020, is a partnership between Verdi Health and Horizon Oncology that will help patients receive a more personalized, coordinated approach to high-quality cancer care in the event of a cancer diagnosis. More information about the Verdi Cancer Direct program will be shared soon.

Registration is due Sept. 25 and is available online. Log in and select "Wellness Events." Limited seats are available.
