Purdue has formed a committee to begin a national candidate search for the dean's position in the College of Science. Leah H. Jamieson, the John A. Edwardson Dean of Engineering, is chairing the committee. More

Purdue has formed a search advisory committee to identify candidates for a new executive vice president for business and finance and treasurer. Diane Denis, senior associate dean of the Krannert School of Management, will chair the committee to seek a successor to Morgan R. Olsen, who is leaving Purdue to become executive vice president and treasurer at Arizona State University.  More

Sam Cordes, Purdue Center for Regional Development co-director, will join international experts on economic development Wednesday (Sept. 10) for a live telecast sponsored by the Economic Development Administration. More

Funds are available to provide grants to students or student organizations for work on community service learning projects.  More

Men and women 65 and older needed for research study

Innovation contests extend beyond soy, now include corn

Soy-based shooting skeet
Purdue's Student Soybean and Corn Innovation Contests are providing students educational opportunities and potentially a lot of cash. The corn contest is new this year, as are the larger cash prizes. The contests encourage teams of 2-4 students to invent new, environmentally friendly products from corn and soybeans. More

Purdue Alumni Association announces young alumni winners

The Purdue Alumni Association presented the 2008 Outstanding Young Alumni Awards during halftime of the Sept. 6 football game against the University of Northern Colorado. Ismael DeJesus and Jon Simpson received the awards during a ceremony on the Ross-Ade Stadium field. More

Injured student reports he was beaten on Stadium Avenue

A Purdue student told police he was injured after being beaten by four males about 2 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 6) on Stadium Avenue near Waldron Street. More

Multicar garages, vaulted ceilings, in-ground swimming pools and kitchens the size of small cafeterias often are the kinds of features people want when they build homes. They might not give as much thought to energy efficiency, said a Purdue agricultural engineer. More

Purdue's celebration of Constitution and Citizenship Day on Sept. 17 will use displays, exhibitions and quiz shows to help educate people about the freedoms of every American citizen. More

Industrial Roundtable job fair under way

The Industrial Roundtable, a student-run job fair, is being held this week (Sept. 8-12) on the Purdue campus. The job fair, sponsored by the Purdue Engineering Student Council, gives students a chance to interact with a variety of companies. Since its beginning in 1980, the fair has grown to more than 300 companies. According to the council, the Industrial Roundtable is the largest student-run job fair in the nation. More
