A Purdue University student told police he was injured after being beaten by four males about 2 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 6) on Stadium Avenue near Waldron Street.

The student victim said one of the four bumped into him and then they had words, Purdue police Lt. Sarah Sheppard said. The other three then appeared and the fight began. The victim was being treated Saturday evening at Home Hospital for a severe eye injury.

The victim called a friend who then took him to the hospital shortly after the encounter, but police weren't informed until 8 p.m. The victim said the man who bumped into him wore jeans and a blue polo shirt with the collar turned up. Another in the group was bald.

Anyone with information is asked to call Purdue police at (765) 494-8221.
