Updated Living Lab Website
The Living Lab started as a course for the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI, allowing CIT students to test their knowledge in the form of projects. To advertise the course, a website was created, detailing what type of work the students may take on. After many years, the site looked outdated as it hadn’t been updated. In the fall 2024 semester, Living Lab students began developing a new website. Currently, the fall 2025 cohort is continuing the website’s development. So far, we have made lots of improvements and modifications to make the website more professional and user-friendly. We are hoping to finish the website up this semester.
Community Website Using WordPress
A nearby church requested to have their entire website overhauled. The objective was to create a modern-looking site with functionality that would serve their community. They wanted an easy-to-use calendar on the site that would automatically update events based on their Google Calendar. A sermon page was also needed, so members could easily find their YouTube video posts quickly after they were uploaded. This functionality allows the site to check for new videos on their channel automatically and update the website’s videos based on any changes. This new site provides them and their members an easier way to navigate the website and stay up-to-date with current information about the church. In addition, the new site is much more modular and allows new content to be added with ease. Project Student: Korey Madden
IT Academy Website
The IT Academy, a program helping people work towards taking and passing CompTIA certification courses, was in need of a new website. They requested the Living Lab students to create one for them. The site currently serves as more of an informative site, but it could be expanded on further. There is a potential for them to add VMware certifications, which would be easy to implement with the website’s setup.
Technology Lab Site for Recording Data and Presenting Data, Research
A technology program for students that work on projects for real clients requested to have their main website redesigned. Their objective was to have a modern-looking site with improved navigation and layout. They hoped to retain existing functionality that allows them to create, read, update, and delete posts and submissions. The Formidable plugin is what allowed them to submit most of their forms, but this will need to be slightly changed as the newer version’s functionality differs from the old version. This newer site now allows them and their clients to navigate the site in a quick and easy manner. Project Student: Korey Madden

CIGT S.P.L.A.S.H Website
This online system, SPLASH (Student Prior Learning Assessment System Helpdesk), simplifies and speeds up the assessment process by providing students with upfront information and guidance for their required documentation. For faculty members, SPLASH provides consistency in documentation requirements and a place to view the submissions. This project ensured consistency and transparency in CIT’s processes in identifying, evaluating, and awarding prior learning credit in computer information technology. It also created a highly scalable PLA program for new and future students interested in completing CIT degrees and provides easily exported learning outcome data with documentation for recurring ABET accreditation activities.
Enabling Drag-and-Drop Functionality For Floor Plans
An Indianapolis organization rents out buildings for special events and needs a way for their clients to choose where they want tables or chairs to be placed. The solution was to enable the user to drag-and-drop furniture to each floor plan. This was done by creating a grid system over the floor plan and enabling furniture icons to be dropped into each unoccupied cell. Clients are now able to successfully plan their events with ease. Jagwarz CTF Expansion
The project purpose was to allow networking and cybersecurity students to practice their skills with the Jagwarz Capture The Flag Expansion. The Jagwarz website contains Capture The Flag and Red vs Blue games. Each game includes multiple challenges to complete for points added towards a player’s account. The client, Connie Justice, requested that new features are added to the Red vs Blue game. To accommodate these new features, the front-end and back-end portions of the website needed updates and proper documentation. Additionally, the back-end infrastructure running the virtual machines and networks needed to be rebuilt and properly backed up. Project Team Members: Deshun Coomer, Sultan Albogmy

Building an Asset Tracking Web Application
The assigned project was an asset tracking web application for a local landscaping company that operates out of Lizton, Indiana. This landscaping company had a big need to find an efficient way to store vital company data. In the past, they previously used Excel spreadsheets to keep track of their inventory, payroll, work related activities and chemical applications that are vital to the operations of the company. As these processes were inefficient, a web application attached to an SQL database was the solution to the company’s needs. In this application, the user is able to interact directly with the SQL database and its tables via the application UI. This allows them to edit, insert, delete, and select data directly to the database. Additionally, authorized users are now able to keep track of employee data and payroll information through the application. These new improvements allow for tracking of the company’s seeds, processes, chemical applications, greenhouses, inventory, and more. Project Member: Angel I Salas-Phillips
