Three alumnae named as Distinguished Purdue Alumni Scholars

Three Purdue alumnae from three Purdue colleges have been selected as 2024 Distinguished Purdue Alumni Scholars for their exceptional leadership and significant contributions to their fields.

The Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence will honor the alumnae during an award reception at 2 p.m. March 22 in Dauch Alumni Center. Awards will be presented by Sunil Prabhakar, vice provost for faculty affairs, and Sang Eun Woo, director of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center and professor of psychological sciences.

The three honorees from the colleges of Engineering, Science and Liberal Arts:

  • Holly M. Matusovich, who earned her PhD in engineering education in 2008 from the School of Engineering Education. She is associate dean of graduate and professional studies and professor of engineering education at Virginia Tech.
  • Lynn Schreyer, who earned her PhD in applied mathematics in 1994 from the Department of Mathematics. She is a professor of mathematics and statistics at Washington State University.
  • Evelyn M. Simien, who earned her PhD in political science in 2001 from the Department of Political Science. She is a professor in the Department of Political Science at University of Connecticut.
