Sponsored Program Services training and resources available for faculty and principal investigators

Whether you are new to sponsored research or have years of experience managing sponsored projects, Sponsored Program Services (SPS) offers a growing collection of training and resources designed specifically for faculty, principal investigators and department leaders.

The SPS training website serves as a central location for learning materials that support researchers throughout the life cycle of a sponsored project. Resources include short training courses, instructional videos, infographics and reference materials that explain key research administration processes and responsibilities.

One featured offering is the Lifecycle of an Account training series, a modern curriculum developed to help researchers better understand the administrative processes that support sponsored projects. The series provides concise, high-level learning opportunities focused on topics such as proposal development, award establishment, cost sharing, account management and other areas of sponsored project administration.

Designed with busy faculty in mind, these courses focus on what researchers need to know, including key responsibilities and important decision points, as well as when to engage SPS and other university partners.

In addition to the Lifecycle of an Account training series, the site includes:

  • SPS introductory videos
  • Quick-reference infographics
  • Research administration resource libraries
  • Additional training materials tailored for faculty and principal investigators

SPS continues to expand and enhance these learning resources to support Purdue’s research community and promote successful management of sponsored projects.
