Research Starts Here: Sharing discoveries and exploring its impact
Over the past six weeks, the Research Starts Here campaign has introduced the people, training, services and tools available throughout Purdue’s research community. For the final installment, Purdue’s Office of Research looks ahead at where a researcher’s work could go next, including helping them share discoveries, explore applications and advance their careers.
Share your discoveries
Making research accessible helps others learn from and build on the work. Purdue’s Share and Commercialize Your Research page connects researchers with publishing and open-access guidance, research dissemination resources, and communication support. Researchers can also find information about submitting news and story ideas to Purdue Today. Whether you have findings to publish or a story to share, these resources offer starting points for reaching audiences beyond your immediate research team.
Explore applications and partnerships
For researchers considering practical applications of their work, the Share and Commercialize Your Research page also provides connections to intellectual property guidance, Purdue Innovates and the Office of Technology Commercialization, along with National Science Foundation I-Corps, Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer resources, and industry partnerships. The Office of Technology Commercialization is a starting point for questions about intellectual property, licensing and commercialization. Exploring these resources can help researchers consider possible pathways for an invention or innovation. Ready to get to work? Contact Purdue Innovates to share your interests and connect with the appropriate team.
Recognize research contributions
Advancing research also means recognizing significant contributions and building connections that create new possibilities. Purdue’s Research Awards and Recognition page highlights honors across disciplines.
Nominations for many of the awards are submitted by colleagues and accepted Sept. 1 to Dec. 1 each year. The page provides nomination instructions and information about additional programs recognizing sponsored research achievements, including the Seed for Success Acorn Awards and the Researcher Recognition Program. Explore Support and Recognition for additional research training and faculty appointment resources.
The campaign concludes. The connections continue.
University research is complex, but the Office of Research can help connect researchers with the appropriate people and resources. Reach out to Request Research Support.
