Office of Research to host October webinars on evolving federal funding landscape

In partnership with Lewis-Burke Associates, Purdue’s Office of Research will host two October webinars to help faculty and researchers better understand significant changes occurring across the federal research funding landscape.

Federal Funding Outlook: Department of Energy and U.S. Department of Agriculture

Oct. 8 | Noon to 1 p.m.

Lewis-Burke experts Leland Cogliani and Bridget Krieger will provide insights into agency reorganization efforts, evolving priorities, research security considerations, funding and policy trends, and other developments researchers should monitor over the next 12-24 months. Ken Sandel, Purdue’s associate vice president for sponsored program services, and Dan Runge, associate director of research security and export controls, will discuss how these changes may affect Purdue researchers and research programs.

Understanding the National Institutes of Health Unified Funding Strategy

Oct. 19 | 1-2 p.m.

Lewis-Burke experts Anjali Tadavarthy and Carrie Wolinetz, former NIH associate director for science policy and former chief of staff to NIH director Francis Collins, will discuss the NIH’s unified funding strategy, implementation across institutes and centers, and potential implications for future funding opportunities. Sandel and Stoan will also provide Purdue-specific perspectives on developments at NIH.
