This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Purdue Today’s “Thumbs Up” series gives faculty and staff members the opportunity to recognize, thank and congratulate others for their outstanding service, support and performance across the Purdue system. This week’s “Thumbs Up” recipients are:

Units that supported the Maha Fluid Power Conference

Thank you to all the campus partners that assisted with the Maha Fluid Power Conference on Sept. 8-10. Special thanks to the Purdue Police Department, Purdue Fire Department, Grounds, Operations and Maintenance’s electrical shop, Parking Operations, Purdue Food Co., Campus Planning and Architecture, Hall of Music Productions, the Union Club Hotel, Purdue Brand Studio Productions, and Stewart Center and Purdue Memorial Union’s back dock team! — Amanda Pedroza (Purdue Conferences)

Electric shop, Parking Operations and the Bull Gang

Thank you to the electric shop, Parking Operations and Bull Gang teams for helping make CAT Day on Sept. 9 a success. We greatly appreciate your support, your availability throughout the day and your quick response to any issues that arose. Your efforts helped ensure the event ran smoothly and successfully. — Amanda Shields (Purdue Conferences)

Donald Layton and Anthony Mullendore

Thank you to Donald and Anthony (both Operations and Maintenance) for their expert work on several paint jobs in the Physics Building. Donald evaluated the rooms and scheduled the work. Anthony completed the room prep, primer coats and paint. These rooms were difficult paint jobs on block walls and ceiling infrastructure. The final product transformed the spaces into clean, bright and functional areas ready for repurposing and reuse. Thank you, Donald and Anthony! — Andrew Robison (Physics and Astronomy)

Nicole Begin

Nicole (Grounds) is doing a good job with flower bed landscaping and keeping the shrubbery well manicured. — Sam Fawley (Building Services)

Dakota Brouillette, Shaun Voorhees and Jason Anderson

Thank you to Dakota, Shaun and Jason (all Operations and Maintenance) for helping make John Deere Day a huge success. I couldn’t have done it without your help! — Rachel Mirkin (Purdue Conferences)

Division of Financial Aid and Purdue Promise staff members

A big thank-you to Sierra Kipp (Financial Aid) and Jazmine Clifton (Purdue Promise) for their partnership throughout the counselor breakfast series and “Our State. Your Purdue. Week.” Their willingness to share their expertise and help across both initiatives strengthened our support for Indiana students, families and the counselors who guide them. I’m grateful for their time, collaboration and commitment to helping students see the opportunities and support available at Purdue! — Tim Bertsch (Admissions)
