Purdue’s Office of Industry Partnerships and Office of Research announce UIDP Industry-Integrated PhD (I-PhD) Scholars Program town hall

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Faculty, students, administrators, industry representatives and all others interested in strengthening university-industry collaboration and exploring new approaches to doctoral education can now register to join Purdue and the University-Industry Demonstration Partnership (UIDP) from 3-4:30 p.m. Sept. 30 for an informational town hall at Purdue Hall for Discovery and Learning Research.

The discussion will focus on the Industry-Integrated PhD Scholars Program, a National Science Foundation-supported national pilot program designed to strengthen STEM doctoral education through university-industry collaboration. The program integrates dissertation-based PhD research with sustained industry engagement through joint mentorship and workforce preparation for PhD candidates.

UIDP President and CEO Tony Boccanfuso will provide an overview of the program, discuss how universities and companies can participate, and answer questions about developing university-industry partnerships that support doctoral training and research. The session will also include a brief introduction to UIDP’s broader Strengthen and Modernize U-I Partnership initiative.
