Faculty and staff make Grandparents University a success

Three Grandparents University participants are engaged in an activity.

The Purdue for Life Foundation would like to thank all faculty, staff and campus partners who made Grandparents University 2026 — which helps strengthen connections between grandparents, their grandchildren and Purdue — another success.

On July 16-17 and July 23-24, 1,000 grandparents and grandchildren participated in Grandparents University in West Lafayette. With the help of instructors from across the university, participants chose from 35 “majors” to study, participated in hands-on learning activities and enjoyed their own commencement ceremony. They also stayed overnight at Frieda Parker Hall or the Union Club Hotel.

Faculty and staff interested in learning more about becoming an instructor for next year’s Grandparents University should contact Leslie Fernung, director of lifelong learning at Purdue for Life, at lafernung@purdueforlife.org.
