Appointments, honors and activities
- Amy Nagle, clinical associate professor in the School of Nursing, has been selected for induction into the National League for Nursing’s Academy of Nursing Education as a 2026 fellow. The prestigious fellowship recognizes distinguished leaders who have made significant contributions to nursing education through teaching, research, leadership and collaboration. Nagle will be formally inducted Sept. 25 during the National League for Nursing Education Summit in Washington, D.C.
- Nielsen Pereira has been appointed for five years as the John Feldhusen Term Associate Professor of Gifted, Talented, and Creative Education in the Department of Educational Studies. He also serves as the executive director of the Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute. The creation of the Feldhusen professorship was made possible by a very generous donation from Sidney Moon, Purdue professor emerita of gifted, creative and talented studies. The creation of this named term associate professorship brings the College of Education’s total of named or distinguished professorships to eight.
- The School of Nursing received the Heart of the Community Award from the Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs during its annual meeting July 22. The award recognized the School of Nursing for its commitment to improving lives and strengthening local communities.
- Tim Cason, Distinguished Professor of Economics and the Gadomski Chair in Economics in the Mitch Daniels School of Business, has won the 2026 Distinguished Service Award from the Economic Science Association. He served as ESA president and as vice president for the Americas and contributed extensively to the profession through his service as editor of Experimental Economics and the Journal of Public Economics. Beyond these formal leadership roles, Cason has remained deeply engaged in the ESA community through active participation in conferences, mentoring sessions and ongoing institutional contributions. At the Daniels School, he directs the Vernon Smith Experimental Economics Laboratory and the Center for Behavioral Economics, Experiments and Public Policy.
- The School of Nursing is a recipient of the 2026 American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Innovations in Professional Nursing Education Award in the public colleges and universities category. The annual award honors member schools that reenvision traditional educational models and lead programmatic change.
- Omolola “Lola” Adeoye-Olatunde, the Darr-Chaney Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy, has been selected to receive the 2026 American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) New Investigator Award. The award recognizes an ACCP member who has made a significant impact on clinical pharmaceutical science. Adeoye-Olatunde was selected in recognition of her innovative community-engaged and interdisciplinary research.
