Appointments, honors and activities
- The Council for Advancement and Support of Education recognized Purdue and its affiliates with three 2026 Circle of Excellence Awards.
- Purdue Brand Studio’s “This is Purdue” podcast won a silver award. Judges noted the podcast’s high production quality and mix of topics and guests that connect with Purdue’s school spirit.
- Purdue for Life Foundation won gold for its work in launching the Purdue Alumni Medical Network, an initiative connecting multidisciplinary, health-focused alumni from across Purdue to address the challenge of engaging the health community despite not having a traditional human medical school.
- Purdue Brand Studio won silver for its work on Purdue’s admissions website, where the team simplified navigation and aligned content to help reduce anxiety in the college decision-making process.
- Purdue Global’s Adam Bufka is this year’s recipient of the National Association of Colleges and Employers’ Mackes Leadership Award. He was honored during NACE’s annual conference June 9-11 in Denver.
- Three Purdue Engineering faculty members — David Warsinger, Denny Yu and Brandon Chynoweth — have been selected by the National Academy of Engineering to participate in the 2026 Grainger Foundation Frontiers of Engineering Symposium, one of the nation’s premier programs recognizing outstanding early-career engineers.
- Laura Elenbaas, assistant professor of human development and family science, has been elected to fellow status in the American Psychological Association by the APA Fellows Committee, effective Jan. 1, 2027. Fellow status is an honor bestowed upon APA members who have shown evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions or performance in the field of psychology. It requires that a person’s work has had a national impact on the field of psychology.
- Purdue Global achieved the No. 4 spot on EdSights’ 2026 Student Voice Score Honors List for four-year public institutions, the school’s highest ranking on the survey to date. Purdue Global scored high in the categories of flexibility, quality of education and supportive environment, leading to an overall increase of 6 percentage points.
