Annual research security training module is open

Each year, Purdue’s research enterprise launches its annual research security training module. Annual training certification helps protect Purdue’s information and technologies and ensures compliance with federal, state and university regulations. 

Under Purdue’s research security program policy, all officers, faculty, staff and students engaged in research are required to complete the training each year.

In addition, research security training is increasingly required in connection with research funding proposals and award acceptance. Several federal agencies now require senior and other research personnel to certify their completion of the training within the 12 months prior to research grant proposal submissions.

In an effort to unburden faculty and staff, the Office of Research has developed a training program that satisfies federal, state and university requirements. It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete, which is considerably briefer than earlier versions.

Purdue researchers who have never completed the training or who are past due should promptly complete the training. All others who have already taken the training within the past 12 months will receive an email notification when they are 30 days from their expiration date.
