With less than three weeks remaining in this year’s Purdue United Way campaign, faculty and staff are encouraged to make a lasting impact by pledging their support toward this year’s $700,000 goal.

This year’s campaign theme is “Local Giving. Lasting Impact.” The theme highlights Purdue’s commitment to strengthening communities, and no matter where you live, your Purdue United Way contribution strengthens your own. Donations from employees based in West Lafayette support United Way of Greater Lafayette, and gifts from those in Indianapolis will benefit United Way of Central Indiana. But all donors can specifically direct their gift to other partner agencies, ensuring their support flows to the people and places they care about most.

Leaders emerge as units strive toward their campaign goals

Colleges and administrative units are central to the success of the Purdue United Way campaign, demonstrating the university’s shared commitment to improving lives in Greater Lafayette. The Office of the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer; Administrative Operations; Purdue for Life Foundation; and the colleges of Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts, and Pharmacy are currently setting the pace on campus, with many other areas making steady progress toward their campaign goals.

There’s still time for every college and unit to climb the leaderboard and help Purdue cross the finish line strong. Every pledge — no matter the amount — creates real, lasting change in Greater Lafayette.

More than 800 Purdue donors have raised $425,000 for the campaign so far.

Participation incentives

Faculty and staff who participate in the campaign will be automatically entered into the Purdue United Way incentive drawing, featuring prizes such as gift cards and a round of golf at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex.

To be included in the drawing, visit the Purdue United Way donation site and click either “Give Now” or “I Don’t Wish To Give.”

Donor flexibility

Contributors can choose to make an unrestricted gift to the campaign or direct their donation to a specific partner agency. Gifts may be made through payroll deduction or as a one-time contribution.

Remote employees wishing to support a nonprofit outside the Tippecanoe County or central Indiana regions can designate 92% of their gifts to a 501(c)(3) of their choice via the donation portal.
