Policy updates for October

The following updated systemwide policy and new standard took effect Oct. 1:

  1. Programs Involving Minors (III.A.6): Updates to this policy include a prohibition on international travel for minors who are not enrolled students of the university, a definition for unpaid interns and clarification that engagement of an unpaid intern who is a minor is considered a custodial program.
  2. Minors in Labs and Other Hazardous Areas (S-31): This new standard formalizes the requirements and prohibitions applicable to minors in laboratories and other hazardous areas of the university, whether the minor is an enrolled student or part of a youth program.

Visit the new and revised policies page on the University Policy Office website for a link to the full text of these systemwide policies and standards.

Note: Policies and standards do not apply to Purdue University Global, as it maintains its own policies and standards.
