Faculty and staff honors
- Professor Harry Denny of the Department of English and director of Purdue Online Writing Lab was recently awarded the 2025 IWCA Muriel Harris Outstanding Service Award at the International Writing Centers Association Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. The award recognizes outstanding service that has benefited the writing center community in significant and broad-based ways.
- The Purdue University School of Nursing and North Central Nursing Clinics has received the 2025 Exemplary Academic-Practice Partnership Award from the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The award recognizes AACN member schools and their clinical partners for highly productive and model partnerships.
- Dr. Heather Liddell, assistant professor in Purdue’s schools of Mechanical Engineering and Sustainability Engineering and Environmental Engineering, received the 2025 American Center for Life Cycle Assessment Michael Levy Rising Star Award for her work advancing the practice of carbon accounting and life cycle assessment for industrial applications using multidisciplinary and multiscale methods.
- Julian Gallegos, assistant professor of nursing at Purdue University, has been selected by the Institute for Policy Solutions at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing for the second cohort of fellows in the Nursing Science Incubator for Social Determinants of Health Solutions (N-SISS) program. N-SISS fellows comprise nurse scientists from across the U.S. for a one-of-a-kind training program building national capacity to eliminate health inequities and fix the broken U.S. health system.
- Purdue University Libraries and School of Information Studies has recognized Wilella Burgess, director of the Evaluation and Learning Research Center, with the 2025 Leadership in Open Access Award. The award has been given annually since 2010 in recognition of exceptional commitment to broadening the reach of scholarship by making Purdue research freely accessible online.
- Darryl Schneider, associate professor of psychological sciences in Purdue University’s College of Health and Human Sciences, was recently appointed as an associate editor for the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance (JEP:HPP). JEP:HPP is a prominent American Psychological Association journal, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Schneider’s term as associate editor begins Jan. 1, 2026.
