Purdue seeks nominations for 3 prestigious annual research awards
The Office of Research is seeking nominations for Purdue’s three most prestigious annual research awards. The deadline for nominations is Dec. 1.
Each year Purdue bestows three awards of distinction to West Lafayette and Indianapolis faculty members with recent extraordinary research, scholarly or creative contributions in their field. The awards are:
- The Lu Ann Aday Award for a major impact in a field of the humanities and social sciences
- The Arden L. Bement Jr. Award for extraordinary contributions in pure and applied sciences and engineering
- The Herbert Newby McCoy Award for extraordinary contributions in the natural sciences
Each recipient will receive a $4,000 cash award plus $7,000 to support their research. Individuals may be nominated for only one award in any year. Past winners of any of the awards are not eligible for another award in any of the categories.
External supporting letters must accompany all nominations. Nominators or their representatives will be invited to make a brief presentation and answer questions during a selection committee meeting. Award recipients will be announced in February and will be recognized during an annual ceremony in the spring.
