WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Boilermaker fans celebrated community educators who play a vital role in shaping future generations during the Golden Hammer Educator Appreciation football game on Saturday, Aug. 30, at Ross-Ade Stadium.
More than 25 educators were honored on field, including community nominees for Teacher of the Year and the Golden Apple Award, along with nominated outstanding educators from early learning centers. In addition, educators from Tippecanoe County and surrounding areas joined the Ross-Ade crowd of nearly 54,000, taking advantage of discounted tickets to be part of the celebration.
The celebration, supported by Purdue Athletics, the College of Education, the College of Health and Human Sciences, the Office of Engagement, and the Office of the First Lady, proudly honored the dedication and impact of community educators who serve children and youth across the region. It was a meaningful opportunity to express the university’s appreciation for the remarkable Indiana educators for the lasting difference they make in their communities.
