Campus community invited to take part in 2025 Purdue United Way campaign

As Purdue United Way prepares to launch its 2025 campaign Monday (Sept. 22), Purdue President Mung Chiang invites all campus community members to consider supporting the effort to reach this year’s goal of raising $700,000 for local nonprofit agencies.

“Each year, the Purdue community unites in an effort greater than ourselves, and through Purdue United Way, we strengthen the communities where we live, work and learn,” Chiang says. “While many of our generous colleagues will elect to contribute a leadership gift this year, every gift makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are most in need.”

This year’s campaign theme is “Local Giving. Lasting Impact.” underscoring how every contribution remains in Greater Lafayette and supports two dozen local agencies that provide a wide variety of services and resources related to housing, food assistance, mental health support and more.

Jim Bullard, the Dr. Samuel R. Allen Dean of the Mitch Daniels School of Business, will lead Purdue’s fundraising effort, which runs through Nov. 5, as the 2025 Purdue United Way campaign champion. As a former United Way U.S.A. board chair, Bullard brings both national experience and commitment to Purdue’s longstanding partnership with United Way of Greater Lafayette.

“We are grateful to Dean Bullard for his service as this year’s Purdue United Way campaign champion,” Chiang says. “With his leadership and with the commitment of all our Purdue family, we have the power to build a stronger, brighter future for our communities and for our neighbors, together.”

Campus community members can support the local effort ahead of the official Purdue United Way campaign launch by participating in United Way of Greater Lafayette’s silent auction, which features a variety of Purdue experiences and items available for bidding through 5 p.m. Sept. 30.
