Appointments, honors and activities

Each month, “Appointments, honors and activities” highlights the accomplishments of Purdue faculty, staff and students. From awards and promotions to appointments in high-level roles and community leadership, we are proud to feature those whose achievements and leadership are shaping their fields.

Faculty and staff honors

  • Li-Shan Chou, professor and head of the Department of Health and Kinesiology at Purdue, has been elected to the fellows of the National Academy of Kinesiology — a prestigious group of only 200 active fellows. Chou’s contributions to the field of kinesiology are distinguished and impactful. His work has resulted in novel assessment protocols and biomechanical markers that provide objective quantification of deficits in gait and balance control, the most common mobility impairment in older adults and patients with neurological disorders.
  • Wayne Campbell, a professor in Purdue’s Department of Nutrition Science, was inducted into the American Society for Nutrition (ASN) Class of 2025 Distinguished Fellows. Induction as a distinguished fellow of ASN is the highest accolade bestowed by the organization, honoring individuals for their significant contributions and outstanding lifetime achievements in the field of nutrition.
