This week’s ‘Thumbs Up’ recipients

Allison Russell and Emily Allen

Big thank-you to Allison Russell (Center for Instructional Excellence), Dr. Allen (Honors College) and their teams for organizing the poster sessions in April. These events provided an excellent opportunity to connect, share ideas and celebrate the meaningful contributions instructors are making in and outside of the classroom. It was inspiring to see such a wide range of innovative work. — John Race (Office of Summer and Winter Sessions)

Austin Creasy

Austin (Purdue Polytechnic Institute) has been instrumental in assisting students’ course needs to make progress in their plans of study. He has worked rigorously with the Registration Workflow System for students and has asked for feedback from the students’ academic advisors. We appreciate your efforts, Austin! — Jill Lloyd-Crucini (Purdue Polytechnic Institute)

Fred Nesvold

Thank you, Fred (Ground Recharge Operations), for going above and beyond in helping me get those heavy boxes back to the Physical Facilities Service Building! I greatly appreciate you and all that you do for Purdue each and every day! — Terri Griffin (Operations and Maintenance)

Debra Haynes

Congratulations to Debra (Bursar) on her 50-year anniversary at Purdue — 49 of them in the Office of the Bursar — on June 4. One of Debra’s duties includes handling the held checks and letting us know when they are ready for pickup. She handles the task with ease and is always so friendly and flexible if we should have an issue about getting them picked on the same day. She definitely deserves a congratulations on her milestone of service to Purdue. — Charlene Fink and Tari Gemmecke (both Finance)

Evan Snethen

Thank you to Evan (IT End User Experience) for his help when I was truly puzzled. I had PaperCut. I was able to choose and install the correct printer for Matthews Hall. Everything looked like a go. I could refresh in PaperCut. I could see that the correct printer was installed in PaperCut. I could choose that printer and press print. Then, I would get an error message saying “Unable to print. Check print settings.” Provided with the information available, Evan was able to systematically help me figure out the problem. We also corrected a couple of other issues requiring an administrative login. Thank you very much, Evan. — Karen Beck (Public Health)

Amy Haston and Jenny McGuire

A huge thank-you to Amy and Jenny (both Purdue Online) for all of your assistance guiding me through my first time using iClicker. Like many, I struggle with new technology, and you both made the switch as easy as it could possibly be. Without support like yours, I could not do what I do. Thank you for being an important part of our teaching mission. — Elizabeth Wirtz (Anthropology)
