Purdue Books Initiative webinar to feature World Scientific Publishing Co.

Faculty and staff are invited to attend the Purdue Books Initiative webinar featuring World Scientific Publishing Co. at 3 p.m. April 23. World Scientific is a leading academic publisher specializing in scientific, technical and medical books and journals. The company’s core disciplines include physics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, life sciences and medicine, environmental sciences, economics, and finance.

World Scientific published and distributed the “Nobel Lectures” series (1901-2021) worldwide, making the scientific, literary and humanitarian achievements of numerous Nobel laureates accessible to a wide audience.

The webinar will feature a presentation by Zvi Ruder, senior executive publisher, and his colleagues Gabriel Rawlinson and Ruth Zhou.

Ruder brings 36 years of experience in the publishing industry, having held positions such as senior editor, global publishing director and, for the past 17 years, senior executive publisher at World Scientific.

During the webinar, attendees will gain insight into World Scientific’s business model, what distinguishes it from other publishing houses, and how to submit a book proposal. The session will include ample time for questions from prospective authors.

The webinar can be accessed via this Microsoft Teams link. A link is also available on the Purdue University Books Initiative website, where a recording of the session will be posted following the event.

Upcoming webinar:

  • Taylor & Francis — May 21

The webinar series is designed to help new and aspiring authors connect with publishing houses and bring their projects from concept to ISBN in record time.

For information about the initiative, authors can visit the Purdue University Books Initiative website or contact Cristina Farmus, vice president for special projects.
