Upcoming ‘Ask Fidelity’ workshops to focus on retirement, Roth in-plan conversions, more

Fidelity, Purdue’s official provider of education, guidance and assistance related to retirement plan investments and decisions, offers free, virtual Healthy Boiler workshops at a variety of times throughout each month. The workshops support the financial wellness pillar of the Healthy Boiler Wellness Program.

The following workshops are available at the end of January into February:

‘Ask Fidelity: Understanding the Basics of Social Security’

Social Security may be an important income source for retirement. During the workshop, attendees will learn about key claiming ages and how benefits are calculated, so individuals can better understand their choices.

  • Jan. 28, 12:30-1 p.m. ET

‘Ask Fidelity: Get To Know Your Retirement Plan and Workplace Financial Consultant’

Fidelity is here to help individuals with any questions they might have about retirement and more. The workshop will explain how Purdue’s retirement plans work and how Fidelity can help with investment advice, so individuals can make the most of this important benefit.

  • Jan. 29, 12:30-1 p.m. ET

‘Ask Fidelity: How To Plan for the Income You’ll Need in Retirement’

The workshop will teach attendees how to create a retirement income plan and explore the risks that can impact it.

  • Feb. 4, 12:30-1 p.m. ET

‘Ask Fidelity: What is a Roth In-Plan Conversion?’

Retirement plans offer many ways to save for the future. During the workshop, attendees will learn about their options, including how to convert after-tax dollars to a Roth using an in-plan conversion.

  • Feb. 5, 12:30-1 p.m. ET

‘Ask Fidelity: Finding an Investment Style to Fit Your Needs’

Managing for retirement isn’t easy, but Fidelity is here to help. During the workshop, attendees will learn about different ways Fidelity can help them manage their retirement savings.

  • Feb. 11, 12:30-1 p.m. ET

Fidelity also offers one-on-one consultations with Fidelity retirement planners to benefits-eligible faculty and staff. The service is complimentary, and planning partners are welcome to join.
