Human Resources reminds employees to review Social Security numbers in Benefitfocus

The Affordable Care Act requires employers to send dependent Social Security numbers (SSN) to the IRS, along with their medical election. Purdue employees should take a moment to review dependent information in Benefitfocus to ensure dependent SSN information has been entered and is valid. If a dependent does not have an SSN to enter, employees may disregard this message.

To review and update, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Benefits/Wellness website and click on the OneCampus portal link, located at the bottom of the page under “Communication” or use the OneCampus portal link above.
  2. Find the “Benefits Enrollment – Active” link and click it to log in to Benefitfocus using your Purdue username and password.
  3. Once logged into Benefitfocus, under the profile tab, select “Your dependents.”
  4. Under “Actions,” click “Edit” next to your dependent’s name.
  5. Click “Show and Edit” just beneath the number to enter a new number, then click the black “Save” box at the bottom of the page.
