PUPD to offer more free active threat training in July, August

The Purdue University Police Department offers free, in-person training classes for potential active shooter/threat events.

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) class provides strategies, guidance and plan options for surviving an active threat event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, and preparing in advance what your response will be. CRASE was designed by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training in 2004. 

The upcoming sessions are:

• Wednesday, July 31: 1:30-3:30 p.m., in BRNG B222 (Beering Hall of Liberal Arts and Education, 100 N. University St.)
• Tuesday, Aug. 13: 9:30-11:30 a.m., in RAWL 1011 (Rawls Hall, 100 S. Grant St.)
• Friday, Aug. 23: 1:30-3:30 p.m., in HAMP 2117 (Hampton Hall of Civil Engineering, 550 Stadium Mall Drive)
• Wednesday, Aug. 28: 6-8 p.m., in BHEE 117 (Brown Family Hall, 465 Northwestern Ave.)

The same information is contained in each of the CRASE training sessions, so please register for only one.
