Personal shipping discount available to West Lafayette faculty, staff beginning Aug. 26

West Lafayette faculty and staff will have access to the university’s discounted shipping rates through PersonalShip beginning today (Aug. 26).

The online tool, powered by eShipGlobal, provides the ability to compare domestic shipping rates and estimated shipping time frames for personal packages in one place for FedEx, UPS, USPS and DHL. Additionally, faculty and staff will benefit from Purdue’s discounted rates on all shipments through the PersonalShip platform and save money compared to retail shipping costs.

Though PersonalShip is not currently available to students at the West Lafayette and Indianapolis campuses, nor to faculty and staff at the Indianapolis campus, this service is expected to be expanded to include students, faculty and staff at both the West Lafayette and Indianapolis campuses in the near future.

To use PersonalShip, enter in package details including estimated dimensions and weight along with personal payment information online. Compare the rates and shipping times, choose the carrier that best fits your needs, then print your shipping label and any other necessary documentation. Affix the shipping label to your package, then drop it off at your carrier’s nearest retail or pickup location. Locations are listed within PersonalShip.

You can access PersonalShip on the Employee Discount Programs webpage. EShipGlobal’s online platform became available for business use across the Purdue community in April 2022 with international and hazardous material shipping options, followed by domestic shipping capabilities for business needs last fall.
