Instructions available in Fix It portal for Indianapolis facility requests

Instructions are now available in the Fix It portal for those needing to request maintenance or other facility service work orders on campus in Indianapolis.

Fix It is a portal used to request work orders for a wide range of maintenance and service repairs. Anyone with a Purdue career account may access the portal.

The general request form found on the Fix It portal should be used for nonurgent general requests such as bulb replacements, dripping faucet, cleaning services, etc. Departments can also use this form to request small project work like painting or hanging a whiteboard. Facilities Operations staff will follow up as soon as possible during normal business hours Monday through Friday.

Emergency or urgent facility requests should follow the procedures below:

  • As always, call 911 for emergency needs that pose an immediate safety risk.
  • For residence halls, residents at North Hall can contact the resident advisor (RA) on duty at 317-612-7056 or 317-612-7022. Lux residents can report urgent issues to the management office at 260-823-4626.
  • For all other campus facilities:
    • For emergency facility requests, call IUI Police at 317-274-7911. An emergency facility request is defined as a threat to safety and security or immediate catastrophic damage.
    • For urgent requests, call IUI Campus Facility Services at 317-278-1900. Urgent work order requests cannot wait for routine maintenance but do not qualify as an emergency.

Instructions for the West Lafayette campus remain the same — urgent and emergency facility issues should be reported to the Work Request Center at 765-494-9999 from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. or the Purdue Public Safety Dispatch Center through their nonemergency phone number at 765-494-8221 from 4 p.m.-7:30 a.m.

Facilities Operations is part of the Administrative Operations organization. The organization provides the university with safe, reliable and transformative services. Establishing a transparent process to address maintenance requests is just one of the many ways the organization helps power Purdue.
