Faculty, staff invited to present at and attend annual BoilerShare Symposium

The Engineering Fountain on the Purdue University campus.

The seventh annual BoilerShare Symposium is a dedicated professional development opportunity for all Purdue faculty and staff to share expertise, collaborate and learn from each other. It will be held at the France A. Cordova Recreational Sports Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  May 29.

This year’s BoilerShare Symposium, sponsored by the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Life, will focus on the Steps to Leaps pillar of well-being with the theme “Boilers at Their Best.” Purdue faculty and staff may choose to spend all or part of the day in activities that include a keynote speaker, learning sessions and wellness presentations.

The planning committee invites Purdue faculty and staff to submit proposals for learning sessions that accentuate the conference theme. For those who have presented at a national, regional or local conference, or those whose areas have spearheaded a new campus initiative, this is an opportunity to share insights and successes.

Some ideas for learning sessions include:

  • Staff well-being
  • Faculty and student affairs collaborations
  • Higher education law
  • Teaching and learning technology
  • Addressing mental wellness of staff and faculty on campus
  • Finding motivation and joy in work post-COVID
  • Trainings like suicide prevention, strengths assessment, Safe Zone, Green Zone, etc.
  • Office and program budgeting
  • Introduction to grant writing
  • The benefits of community involvement

To submit a learning session proposal, please fill out the Call for Programs form. Proposals are due by Friday (April 26). Registration and further information for the BoilerShare Symposium will be available soon on the BoilerShare Symposium webpage.
