Registration opens for Super Summer, residential programs for gifted K-12 students

Registration is now open for the Purdue University College of Education Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute’s Super Summer and Summer Residential programs. The Super Summer program is for children in kindergarten through fourth grade; the Summer Residential program is available to students in fifth through 12th grade. Enroll in the grade level most recently completed.

Super Summer program

The Super Summer program is where bright kids come to enjoy challenging courses with other academically, creatively and artistically talented youth. The program offers a variety of course topics in mathematics, science and technology, visual and performing arts, and interdisciplinary studies. The daylong courses are designed at least two grade levels above each student’s current school grade. 

Two weeklong sessions will be offered:

  • June 10-14
  • June 17-21

The cost is $350 per child per session for non-Purdue employees and $325 for Purdue employees. For families with more two or more children, the rate is $325 per child. Limited financial aid is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, please visit the Super Summer webpage.

Summer Residential program

Students in the Summer Residential program live in campus residence halls, take challenging courses and participate in engaging recreational activities. Program participants are grouped by grade completed with two sessions per group:

  • Grades 5-6
    • June 30-July 6
    • July 7-13
  • Grades 7-8
    • June 30-July 13
    • July 14-27
  • Grades 9-12
    • June 30-July 13
    • July 14-27

The cost for grades 5-6 is $1,250 per session for students staying on campus and $1,000 for commuters. The cost for each session for grades 7-8 and 9-12 is $2,500. Purdue employees and families with more than one child in the program are eligible for a discount. A discount is also offered to those enrolling in multiple sessions.
