About the Purdue author 

Lefteri Tsoukalas is a professor of nuclear engineering at Purdue University. He is also the principal investigator of the university’s Artificial Intelligence Systems Lab and works in the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security. Additionally, Tsoukalas is a fellow of the American Nuclear Society and served advisory and consulting positions for the United States Department of Energy; International Atomic Energy Agency; and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore.

Tsoukalas’ research interests include neurofuzzy methodologies for complex power systems modeling, diagnostics and control, as well as energy policy and global resource analysis.
