Purdue University First Lady YingKei Hui will serve as honorary chair and spokesperson for the 16th annual Purdue Challenge 5K run/walk that benefits the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13, on Stadium Mall.

Purdue faculty and staff can receive $5 off the registration fee with the promo code TODAY24. This exclusive discount is valid until 11:59 p.m. ET Friday (March 15) and can only be used to purchase a nonstudent ticket. Prices will go up by $5 per person on March 16.

Online registration closes at 9 a.m. Friday, April 12. In-person registration will take place during packet pickup on April 12 and 13.

Visit the Purdue Challenge 5K website to register to race or raise funds, share with family and friends, or make a pledge to a participant or team. 

The event, which has generated more than $1 million since 2008, reminds the community that Purdue cancer research provides hope to survivors. Challenge proceeds have allowed the Purdue Institute for Cancer Research to make strides in the innovation and improvement of cancer detection, treatment and prevention.
