Update to policy on docking pay

A shot of the Purdue University campus during the winter season.

Revisions to the policy on Docking Pay of Exempt Employees (II.C.5) are effective Aug. 1. The updates align the policy with federal regulations that require deductions from the paycheck of an exempt employee for any reason stated in the policy be taken in full-day increments. If the employee worked any portion of a day, pay may not be docked for that day. Exempt employees are typically those who are paid according to a salary, not by the hour.

Visit the new and revised policies page on the University Policy Office website for a link to the full text of the systemwide policies.

Note: Policies and standards do not apply to Purdue Global, as it maintains its own policies and standards.
