Agricultural center to host farm safety and health meeting
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Those interested in learning more about safe farming can attend a free Agricultural Safety and Health Forum on Sept. 16 at the Beck Agricultural Center.
Purdue University's Agricultural Safety and Health Program and Indiana Rural Safety Health Council have teamed up to host the forum from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The goal is to maintain a focus on farm-related fatalities and injuries.
A report about farm-related fatalities and injuries will be given during the meeting. There will be several interactive opportunities that will teach farm safety.
Some of the demonstrations include overhead power line safety and technology for farmers with disabilities. A simulated grain-bin rescue will also be conducted.
Resource materials and food will be provided, but registration is required. Register by Sept. 10 by calling Liz Semmel at 765-494-7912 or e-mail your reservation to esemmel@purdue.edu. Beck Agricultural Center is at 4540 U.S. 52 West.
