Purdue police to offer text messaging at home football games
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Beginning with Saturday's (Sept. 18) game against Ball State University, Purdue will offer a new way for fans in Ross-Ade Stadium to report problems without leaving their seats.
Crowd members in the stadium can text Purdue police at 765-414-6453 to report incidents or situations they encounter, such as unruly people, broken glass or other safety issues, said Purdue police Chief John Cox.
The technology will be available throughout the remainder of the home football games and will be reviewed after the conclusion of the season.
