Lamp pole installation to disrupt traffic on section of State Street beginning Tuesday
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The westbound lane of State Street between Grant and University streets will be closed beginning Tuesday (Aug. 31) while new lamp poles are being installed.
Sign boards and signage will be in place to warn drivers, said Purdue police Chief John Cox. Westbound traffic could be temporarily halted as equipment moves in and out of the area. Drivers who use the route are urged to take alternative routes.
Duke Energy, which is installing the poles and lamps, will have flagmen and safety precautions in place, and police ask that motorists use extreme caution if they choose to drive through the area.
